W - Remember
Although payday lenders charge usurious rates of interest much higher than loan sharks, payday lenders are licensed, legal and (hopefully) pay their taxes in full.
Loan sharks, on the other hand, are illegal, unlicensed and do not pay taxes.
On this day, let us remember that the profits from transactions with illegal lenders promote organized criminal activity and may put American lives at risk…
The profits from illegal loan transactions support criminal organizations and, in some cases, terrorists who undermine our national security.
Also, since no taxes are paid on the transaction, money that could have gone to defending our nation may instead be funneled to those who would attack Americans at home and abroad.
For your own safety and the safety of all Americans, never use illegal lenders.
In times of financial emergency, please consider payday loan alternatives that are safer and cheaper than payday loans. There are also special alternatives for students and military members.
If you have exhausted all other options and must approach a payday lender, be sure to check that the lender is licensed in your state.
This will increase the chances that the profits from your loan transaction will not be used to take American lives.
