On Oct. 11, 2013, we received these allegations against American Web Loan: “I was doing research on payday loans. I came across American Web Loan and had taken out a loan from them. I was never given any paperwork or shown any paperwork showing that I had agreed to the terms of service. Over the phone the lady had explained to me I would pay $150 until my account was paid off. After the 4th debit calculating a total of 600.00 paid on 9-24-2013. I called on that date to make sure that my account had been satisfied and paid in full. The lady had stated that I had still owed $500 and was paying interest. I told the lady that I was never explained this and was never given a copy of my contract. She got very irate with me and said sorry there is nothing she can do. I do have copies of my checking account debits and have closed my checking account. 10/8/2013 Payment was due but since they do not want to respond to my email about my account I cancelled payments out of my account. I was contacted via email on 10/10/2013 with this email: Dear [Name Redacted], This letter is to inform you that the account shown above is in default status at this time. Despite numerous attempts, we have been unable to contact you or make suitable arrangements to resolve this matter. You must call me immediately at phone (agent phone #) to discuss how we can work together to resolve this situation. We are available 7:00am to 7:00pm Central Standard Time Monday through Friday. After hours you can leave a voice mail with your contact information and we will call you at our earliest opportunity. If we do not hear from you, we will have no choice but to assume that you are indifferent to this situation and proceed accordingly. If we are unable to contact you and agree to repayment term, your account may be referred to an outside collection agency.
