On January 29, 2013, we received the following allegations against Highland Group and Ashland Funding (Crestwood): “These lenders are aggressive and nasty.”
On January 30, 2013, a kind reader sent us more allegations against Highland Group and Ashland Funding (Crestwood): “I am using a law firm to help me pay off my payday loans. This company is related to Ashland Group and St Armand Group. They have made threats against me and even have dug up old family phone numbers to make threats to my family. I have hired a law firm to handle Highland, Ashland and St Armand – but they do not care! They will find an illegal way to scare you. They are out of control!”
Allegations against Highland Group LLC received on May 12, 2013: “Not legal. Highland Group LLC / Highland Holdings had no permission to take $780 out of my bank.” and “Not authorized to withdraw $780. There will be an investigation through 2 banks. They sold me a loan under false pretenses. The FBI will handle this forthwith. I notified them on May 12, 2013.” Editor’s Note: Thank you for your message! On March 24, 2013, a kind reader sent us the following allegations against Highland Holdings LLC AKA Midland Companies: “Here is another phone number they use:1-888-627-9560.” On the same day, we received more allegations against Highland Holdings Group: “This lender is unethical! To date, I have paid them a total of more than $400 on a $200 loan! I hope to be able to reach someone with this outfit to determine what is really going on! This is just ludicrous!”
On June 19, 2013, we received the following allegations against Highland LLC: “I did a payday loan through this company online for $300.00. All of a sudden they said my payback amount was $710.00. This is ridiculous! I am not paying that. I told them I would pay back the full $300.00 plus WA state interest on a payday loan and they would not accept that. They have looked people up on the internet with my last name and any ties to me and left threatening messages on voice-mails. Also called me at work saying that I committed fraud and they were going to show up at my house with a sheriff in an hour. I obviously know that is not true. Once again a Jack Schwartz called me today at work, when I told him it was against the law to harass me over a payday loan in Washington state he told me to transfer him to my human resources department so that he could put in a garnish. This company is bogus and does not have a license in WA state. This is illegal!”
