The California Department of Corporations has filed a Desist and Refrain Order (PDF) against JHS Marketing.
On Oct. 16, 2013, we received these allegations against JHS Marketing Inc.: “Every time I am ready to pay off my loan, JHS Marketing Inc. would stop taking payment from my account for months. I tried calling the telephone that was listed on my account summary but it was disconnected. Several months would go by without me hearing anything from JHS Marketing Inc., then out of the blue I would receive an email (not a call or a mailed correspondent) stating that payments due will resume. JHS Marketing Inc would also inform me that another company CWB Services will be taking the funds out of my account, which my financial institute will not allow them because they have done this way too many times. I’ve copied and pasted the latest email I’ve received from them. Dear [Name Redacted], Customer ID# [Redacted], You are receiving this email today in regards to your upcoming payment due with JHS Marketing. This email is being sent to you as a courtesy to inform you that your previously scheduled payments due on your account are set to resume. We want to apologize for the inconvenience, but also wanted to give you the opportunity to plan for this payment. Please note that only the minimum service charge will be withdrawn on the next payment period. We will not attempt to ‘catch up’ on multiple payments. If you had previously scheduled a payoff or pay-down, that arrangement has been canceled due to the delay. We will be more than happy to work with you on this. To contact us with questions or to discuss your repayment options, please contact our office at 1-855-817-7028 at your earliest convenience. Thank you for being a valued customer and have a great day. Again, you have previously authorized JHS Marketing to initiate, and your financial institution to honor electronic payment(s) from your bank account on record.
