Major natural disasters include (but are not limited to):
- hurricanes
- floods
- tornadoes
- wildfires
- earthquakes
- isolated house fires
From their website:
The Fund provides grants ranging from $1,000 to $14,000, depending on the total amount of qualified loss after insurance and other relief assistance. If you have been a victim of such a disaster, and have a significant monetary loss after insurance and other relief assistance, you are encouraged to print out the application form… fill it out and mail it to PERF with supporting documentation.
