Dennis Brassford
“I believe the people who oppose us the most are people who have never used our product, people who have never had the need to use our product, and will never have the need to use our product.”
Payday lender and trade group president Dennis Brassford defends his industry and opposes government tracking of payday loans…
According to an article by Connie Thompson, Brassford believes tracking payday loan consumers using a state database would lead to privacy concerns:
“If what you’re talking about is some kind of database? I don’t think so… I don’t think there should be a database. I think the database that they have in a couple of other states is an intrusion into the privacy of customers.”
Dennis Brassford is president of Financial Service Centers of Washington, a payday loan industry trade group, Financial Service Centers of Washington. He owns Money Tree (one of the biggest payday lenders in Washington state).
