In an article entitled Fighting the War at Home, Senator Jackie Speier compared high-interest loans to roadside bombs:
“We may not be able to protect our young men and women from roadside bombs in Iraq, but we ought to be able to protect them from predatory lending practices in California.”
State Senator Jackie Speier represents the 8th Senate District and chairs the Senate Banking, Finance and Insurance Committee.
