On May 9, 2013, we received the following allegations against Oakwood LLC: “Looked on Oakwood LLC web site. Was only inquiring. They put $300.00 into my account and then withdrew $360 to start paying off the debt. I never signed a contract, never gave verbal approval to proceed with the loan. They took it upon themselves to go forward. Now they are calling threatening me with serving me papers to appear in court. I want my $60.00 back they took from me and have them stop calling!” Editor’s Note: Thank you for providing us with this info! We were unable to find a website for this entity. On June 27, 2013, we kind reader sent us more allegations against Oakwood Services LLC and Total Lending Services LLC: “I just received an email stating the same thing the previous consumer complained about. I had applied for an online loan with a secure website and received an email from a Matt with Oakwood Services LLC and Total Lending Services LLC with the a similar email address except for the first part. I have already email them to not put money in my account that I have not requested. On July 30, 2013, we received the following allegations against Oakwood Services: “They deposited $300 into my checking account without my authorization. I know there is going to be some outrageous fees associated with paying this back.”
On August 2, 2013, we received the following allegations against Oakwood Lending Services: “I said ‘Well, I haven’t spent those $300 so they can just have it back.’ No. Once they took out supposedly the last payment they said I need to pay $100 dollars each month until October! Since I couldn’t make the payments they got a summons and took it too my job! They are a huge scam! A bunch of [expletive redacted] taking advantage of people who are struggling to pay bills! Do NOT apply!”
On August 17, 2013, we received these allegations against Oakwood Services: “Loan company cannot issue loans in the state of Connecticut.” Editor’s Note: We received similar allegations against ABC Payday Loan and Bright Star. According to our State Licensed Payday Loan Sites by State page, Connecticut prohibits online payday loans.
On Oct. 8, 2013, we received these allegations against Oakwood Services, LLC: “Some how they had gotten my information, drew up a loan agreement that I never signed or knew about until recently. They just tried to pull 60 dollars out of my bank account. Thankfully it didn’t go through but now I have an insufficient fund fee. The loan was for $200 with $60 fee. This was done back in July. Never knew the funds were in my account. I never heard of them. I believe they may have accessed my information from a loan company I had used that I know is legitimate. Please help. What can I do to get these fakes to leave me alone? I won’t put any money into my bank account until I know they can’t touch it no more which also effects my child support.”
