Advance from Employer
One alternative to a payday loan is an employer paycheck advance.
Since a paycheck advance from your employer is not a loan, no money is lost to interest fees.
Employer advances have advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages
- cheaper than payday loan (no interest fee)
- depending on your company, can be processed quickly
Disadvantages
- reveals to employer you have financial difficulties
- some employers do not offer paycheck advances
Although no money is wasted on interest fees, depending on the size of the cash advance, you may be left with very little money to survive the next paycheck. Always have a concrete survival plan for the month after the employer advance.
