The United States Trustee Program is the component of the Department of Justice responsible for overseeing the administration of bankruptcy cases and private trustees.
The U.S. Trustee Program has a list of approved credit counseling agencies pursuant to 11 U.S.C. § 111 (PDF File).
These agencies are nonprofit budget and credit counseling agencies approved to provide counseling that individuals must take before they are eligible to file for bankruptcy protection, 11 U.S.C. § 109(h)…
