Truth in Payday Lending

Update: GoFastCash Goes Under?

Category: Updates — Wednesday, May 7, 2008

GoFastCash was one of the most popular payday loan sites in our list of lenders (based on overall pageviews on our site).

It was among the highest rated payday lenders as well (based on visitor ratings).

Their price of $15 per $100 borrowed was also among the lowest on our Compare Lenders page, but was their price too low?

It has come to our attention that GoFastCash’s URL no longer resolves properly. Worse yet, it seems to be a forced redirect to a suspicious site

The redirect takes you to a “mystery meat lender” that:

  • offers very little information about loan prices or terms
  • offers no APR disclosure
  • demands a lot of personal information (including your social security number)

This leads us to believe that the GoFastCash domain may now be owned by a publisher/affiliate and not an actual lender.

Since the URL is no longer valid, we have:

  • changed the lender classification from L (actual lender) to X (lenders to avoid)
  • set the rating to the lowest possible rating
  • set the popularity to the lowest possible popularity
  • removed the URL from the GoFastCash page

Remember, dealing with suspicious sites may expose you to personal information risks and unwanted commercial messages.
