City Council member Scott Somers said that someone’s bad financial decision would not be changed by a council vote to restrict payday loan shops in Mesa, Arizona…
On Monday, the Mesa City Council voted down a measure that would have prohibited payday lenders from setting up shop within a quarter mile of an existing payday loan store.
Payday loan stores continue to operate without restrictions in the city. There are over 100 payday lenders in Mesa.
Scott Somers is a city council member in Mesa, Arizona.
