Yesterday, a kind reader alerted us to the fact that one of the payday loan sites in our Compare Lenders page was a publisher/referral site, not an actual lender.
The site in question was removed immediately from all our comparison pages.
We sincerely thank our kind readers for their continued support, effort and vigilance. Your efforts help borrowers everywhere!
Let’s take a look at what happened…
Here is what the site looked like on June 23, 2006, one day after we added it to Online Payday Loans:

The last change recorded on archive.org occurred on October 27, 2007:
http://web.archive.org/web/20071026010915/www.aeroadvance.com/
If you visit the site now, you will notice that they added the following (in ALL CAPS, no less):
“THE OPERATOR OF THIS WEBSITE IS NOT A LENDER.”
It takes six months for archive.org to reflect new changes to a site so they probably added it quite recently.
